Die ersten Clones von APS sind im Oktober 1996 vorgestellt worden. Anfangs 1998 hat APS seine M*Power-Clones einstellen müssen, weil die Firma aufgrund nicht zahlungskräftiger Grossabnehmer in finanzielle Not geraten ist. LaCie hat APS aufgekauft und lässt sie weiterhin Computerperipherie verkaufen, die Mac Clones gehören aber der Vergangenheit an. | ||||||||

PowerEx hat anfangs nur Clones von UMAX unter eigenem Namen verkauft, stellt seit Mai '97 aber eigene Clones her. PowerEx ist eine Division der Firma Everex. Dazu ein Macworld Artikel.
